A former Disneyland Resort cast member recently revealed the video that led to their firing from the Southern California Disney parks. The TikTok video included footage of the resort’s after-hours cleaning crews and vehicles operating on Main Street, U.S.A., a location that is off-limits to guests once the park is closed.
The cast member, known on TikTok as @offeruphustle, posted the video on Wednesday, saying it was “The video that got me fired from Disneyland.” The video, which amassed nearly 500,000 views, sparked a heated debate online about the former employee’s termination and the social media policies at Disneyland Resort.
@offeruphustle The video that got me FIRED. Sucks cuz I was days away from quitting and doing OfferUp full time and running my laser business. They beat me to the punch 😂😂 #disneyland
Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort have strict rules about filming in areas designated as “backstage,” or cast member-only zones. While Main Street, U.S.A. is typically an “onstage” area during park hours, it transitions into a backstage area once the park closes and guests have been cleared out. Disneyland Resort employees are prohibited from sharing anything considered unsafe for magic, including videos showing behind-the-scenes cleaning procedures and vehicles.
The video received hundreds of comments, with many criticizing the TikTok user for breaking Disneyland Resort’s rules.
“All employers have rules- you don’t follow them, there’s a possibility you will get fired,” said @cclizz24.
“Maybe cause they have a strict rule of no recording??” @user1316004058249 replied. “…Like what else did he expect?”
The TikToker defended their actions by explaining that they wanted to show the hard work Disneyland Resort cast members do after hours.
“Ppl would say Disney don’t wash the floors everyday. Well I was the one washing the floors everyday except Wednesday/Thursday rain or shine,” they explained.
Some social media users were sympathetic toward the cast member and criticized Disney for being too strict.
“That’s a crazy reason to get fired,” @tiktokuser41797 wrote. “As a magic key holder I appreciate seeing all the hard work involved after hours.”
“That should not be a fireable offense,” @kimace1969 said. “They weren’t doing anything. Sorry this happened to you!”
Disneyland Resort has not issued any public statements regarding the former cast member’s termination.

You knew the rules you knew the consequences. Sorry you got fired but you asked for it. That’s what wrong with people you think you can break the rules and you don’t have to pay for it.
