It appears that despite Disney Cruise Line’s enduring and arguably draconian, Covid-inspired policies, at least one passenger still managed to test positive of the disease.

According to the TikTok account, @fairytalewonders, one passenger tested positive on the last day of their 14-night Mediterranean cruise. While only one of the couple tested positive, they were both quarantined for the remainder of their cruise. They had to quarantine for another ten days after disembarking in Barcelona before flying home. Disney reportedly “took care of” all of their arrangements.

Out of all of the different options found under Disney Parks Experience and Products, Disney Cruise Line has remained the most strict in terms of covid protocols, requiring all vaccine-eligible passengers over the age of five to be “fully vaccinated” as well as provide a negative test before being able to board. And, once on board, certain covid protocols remain in effect, such as sustained face mask requirements for certain indoor areas. Meanwhile, Disney World, Disneyland in California, and Disneyland Paris have all ended their mask requirements and do not require tests or proof of vaccination from the Guests.

It should be noted that cruise ships have a general policy of quarantining any sick Guests in their rooms. It appears that the couple fully recovered, and this individual case did not lead to an outbreak.

Disney Cruise Line currently has ships in Europe, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. The Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy will soon be joined by their new sister ship, the triton-class Disney Wish, later this year.
