Disney Dropping Lowest Park Experience to ‘0,’ Literally

Disneyland Tier 0 Tickets

There is a new lowest denominator for Disney Theme Park tickets. On Tuesday, October 11, Disneyland Resort announced a slew of price increases and a brand new base fare for its Theme Parks.

It’s called the “Tier 0 Ticket,” and Guests’ ability to use it to access Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will be contingent upon how crowded they’re both expected to be. Starting at the cost of $104, this one-day ticket will only be valid on the least crowded days of the year.

It should be noted that Guests choosing to purchase Disneyland’s Tier 0 Ticket are still dependent upon Theme Park Reservation availability, and this base price does not include the added Park Hopper Cost (now set at $65), regular parking (still $30), and other additional costs.

The most expensive 1-day Park Hopper Theme Park Ticket will now cost Guests $244 per day before taxes, parking, and Disney Genie+ (if they so choose to add).

“Disneyland Resort is always planning the next new idea, attraction, and story,” a Disneyland official said in a statement. “Our tiered ticketing structure offers guests different options to experience that magic throughout the year, including our lowest price point – which hasn’t changed since 2019.”

Once again, Disney is striving to lower the baseline experience standard for its Guests while simultaneously raising the cost of the old standard in the name of “increased accessibility.” Disneyland’s lowest price point may not have changed in the past 3 years, but the actual Park experience a Guest can get for that rate has definitely depreciated. Although, since those most-affordable rates are all valid on school days, it is probable that the “Disney Adult” crowd might find the childless atmosphere quite the contrary.

Disneyland’s new ticket prices go into effect today, Tuesday, October 11. Ticket sales and Theme Park Reservations are now available for the first few weeks of the Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration.
