A familiar shape has returned to Disney’s skyline — one that longtime theme park fans may not have expected to see again.
For years, the Earffel Tower symbolized a very specific era of Disney parks — one built around movie magic, backlots, and the illusion of stepping inside a working Hollywood studio. The structure’s oversized Mickey ears made it instantly recognizable.

The tower first debuted in 1989 at Disney-MGM Studios, now known as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, at Walt Disney World. Designed as a parody of Paris’ Eiffel Tower, its name combined “Eiffel” with Mickey’s signature ears.
The result was a tongue-in-cheek landmark that quickly became the park’s defining icon.
Positioned near the backlot areas, the tower reflected the park’s original concept as a filmmaking playground. Guests walked through soundstages, film sets, and stunt demonstrations beneath the towering structure.
That version of the Earffel Tower disappeared in 2016.
Disney demolished the landmark to make room for Toy Story Land during a massive overhaul of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The removal quietly closed the book on one of the park’s most recognizable early-era icons.

For many fans, the tower seemed destined to remain a relic of Disney parks history.
Yet the design never fully vanished from Disney’s global resorts.
A second version of the Earffel Tower has stood at Disneyland Paris since 2002, when Walt Disney Studios Park first opened. The structure echoed its Florida counterpart — complete with the oversized Mickey ears perched at the top.
Now, that Paris version has taken on a new role.
Disney Quietly Revives a Hollywood Studios Icon
As Disneyland Paris prepares to relaunch Walt Disney Studios Park as Disney Adventure World, the Earffel Tower has received a noticeable update.
Disney has debuted another take on its iconic Earful Tower.
According to DLP Report, the tower has been fitted with a new lighting package that outlines the edges of Mickey’s ears — a detail that closely mirrors the illuminated version once seen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
In effect, Disney has recreated the visual style of the long-demolished Florida icon.

Fans quickly noticed the resemblance.
“Looks stunning,” said one X, formerly known as Twitter, user.
Another wrote, “Oh, it’s 94 again. (Complimentary).”
For longtime Disney parks followers, the change feels like a quiet nod to the original tower that once dominated the skyline in Florida.
The lighting package recreates a distinctive element that defined the Hollywood Studios version in its later years.
Disneyland Paris Keeps the Tower — With a New Identity
Not every aspect of the tower’s update has been universally welcomed.
Some fans have expressed concern about what will replace the tower’s previous branding once its protective covering is removed.
The water tank on the structure historically displayed the words “Walt Disney Studios Park,” referencing the park’s original name.
That name will soon disappear as the park officially becomes Disney Adventure World.
“I love it! (But the logo, I’m not going to love it, I refuse),” said one X user.
With the rain coming down, my day at Disneyland Paris comes to an end. Join me tomorrow for the opening of Disney Adventure World!
In the meantime, the new lighting on the Earfell Tower looks great!

Even so, the tower’s continued presence has reassured many Disneyland Paris fans.
During the park’s ongoing transformation, some feared the Earffel Tower might be removed altogether as Disney phased out the old studio-themed identity.
Instead, Walt Disney Imagineering appears to have invested in preserving the structure.
The lighting upgrade suggests the tower will remain part of the park’s skyline — even as the surrounding environment evolves into a very different destination.
What To Expect From Disney Adventure World
Disney Adventure World will introduce Adventure Way, a new central promenade leading guests toward Adventure Bay — a large lagoon designed to anchor the redesigned park.

The expansion will also bring the long-awaited World of Frozen to Disneyland Paris, complete with themed environments and character experiences inspired by the hit Disney franchise, as well as Frozen Ever After.
A Tangled (2010)-inspired attraction, Raiponce Tangled Spin, will also debut to guests.
Entertainment will play a major role in the new park as well. The nighttime spectacular Disney Cascade of Lights will debut over Adventure Bay, giving the park a new evening centerpiece.

Additional projects are already planned beyond the opening.
Disney has teased a swing attraction inspired by Up (2009) and an entire themed land based on The Lion King (1994). Persistent rumors have also suggested that an Avatar expansion could eventually arrive.
For now, however, the biggest surprise may be what Disney chose not to remove.
Nearly a decade after the original Earffel Tower disappeared from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, its spirit has quietly returned — this time lighting up the skyline at Disney Adventure World.

I got excited thinking this was coming back to WDW. I wish they would, but they don’t seem to care about preserving history at the Florida parks. 😔
I wish that they would bring the Earful Tower back to Hollywood Studios. I mean they recently painted Cinderella’s Castle to its original colors. So, why not bring back an opening day iconic tower?
They.keep tearing down/replacing/downgrading attractions in Florida while ignoring the land that was provided for expansion! Please show your original parks some love! At least, stop raising the prices!
