Planning your visit to Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park? As you prepare plans to soar with Dumbo and sing along to “it’s a small world, “… there’s a brilliant Disney hack going viral that will save you money and time.
If staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, Disney offers excellent transportation to and from the Resorts and Parks. Whether you ride along on a bus, boat, Monorail, Skyliner, or take a walking path – Disney transportation is a huge complimentary perk for Resort Guests.
If you’ve decided to stay offsite, you’ll need to budget to spend $25 per day for a standard car for theme park parking. Unfortunately, the Magic Kingdom parking lot, known as the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC), is roughly 1.5 miles from the Park entrance.
Guests arriving at the TTC park their car, take a tram to the TTC hub and decide if they would like to ride the ferry or the Monorail directly to the entrance of Magic Kingdom.
The TTC can be a pain, and security lines before boarding the ferry or Monorail also typically boast long lines. Want to skip the TTC altogether? A viral Disney hack may be the solution.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort (and Bay Lake Tower) is an excellent Disney Resort to stay at for easy access to Magic Kingdom. With its short walking path and security, gaining access to Magic Kingdom is a breeze. This also allows Guests to avoid the mass exodus of people attempting to get to the TTC after the Disney Park closes for the day.
As the video noted, you can Mobile Order food or a beverage at Disney’s Contempo Cafe (located inside Contemporary Resort). With this Mobile Order confirmation, the security at the Contemporary gate will let you come into the Resort parking lot for free.
Looking for a full breakfast before Magic Kingdom opens? You can also make breakfast reservations at Contemporary table-service restaurants such as Steakhouse 71 or Chef Mickey’s… have a good breakfast… then walk over to the Park.
While this hack is brilliant, we will say Contemporary Resort has been known to implement allotted parking time. So, for example, if they are busy enough, security may give you a tag for a 3-hour parking window vs. leaving your car in the Contemporary parking lot all day.
