One of the most exciting parts of planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is thinking of all the great places that you would like to eat. With nearly 400 dining spots throughout the Resort, there is truly something for everyone. Guests can indulge in delectable delights like pizza, Mediterranean, Mexican, French, American Steakhouse, and so many other types of restaurants. There is also a restaurant to fit every budget, from grab-and-go options, counter-service, and sit-down dining. Disney World’s dining options are truly unlike any other.

Dining reservations are not required at nearly all Disney World dining spots. However, for more popular options — like Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom — reservations are HIGHLY recommended. Guests staying on property can make dining reservations up to 60 days before their magical trip. A credit or debit card will be required to hold the reservation, but you will not be charged at the time of making the reservation.

In order to keep Guests from making a ton of reservations and then not showing up, Disney charges Guests $10 per person if they cancel their dining reservations less than two hours before they are scheduled. And now, Disney World is making another big change to its dining reservation policy.

According to the Walt Disney World Resort website, Guests can no longer cancel or modify their existing dining reservation on the My Disney Experience app within that two-hour window.

Restaurants offering advance reservations do not allow modifications within 2 hours of the reservation time, and most charge a $10 per-person fee to cancel within 2 hours of the reservation time, or if you don’t show up for your reservation. Each restaurant’s policies are provided when you make your reservation. If you’ve already booked, the policies can be found in your confirmation email.
