Walt Disney World has a brand new restaurant opening up this week on March 23, 2023. It is none other than Roundup Rodeo BBQ located in Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This restaurant features you guessed it- barbecue food and is based on the beloved Toy Story franchise.
Now with any new restaurant opening in the Walt Disney World Resort, there is going to be a very high demand and very little supply ratio. Many trying to get their advanced dining reservations have come to see that there is no availability whatsoever.
What can one do in this situation? Well, first off, go ahead and cry. It stinks, we know. After you dry your tears, know it is not the end. You still have many options.
Roundup Rodeo, of course, has a walk-up option. This means if anyone cancels last minute or somehow people are just inhaling their food and finish faster than expected, you can snag a spot. Of course, there is no guarantee.
Another option is to join Facebook groups specifically for adding or dropping reservations. This is where, say someone booked Roundup Rodeo but oops, suddenly now is going to Magic Kingdom that day and needs to cancel. They will alert people in the group and you can connect with them and coordinate to be online at the same moment they drop their reservation, you can snatch it. A similar concept is apps and websites like Mousewatcher and Stakeout that do all of the work for you, but you will literally have to pay the price and fork over some money.
Sad but true, sometimes you just cannot get that reservation. Now, you can go ahead and bawl. We know, it is a lot of emotions. Luckily you still have some options.
If you really wanted a Toy Story-themed place to dine, Woody’s Lunch Box is a quick service gem in Hollywood Studios. Save yourself some cash there! If you are looking for barbecue, two of our favorite options are Regal Eagle in EPCOT, but if you don’t want to track out to a park, Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge has all-you-can-eat meals and hijinx. It truly is one of Disney dinning’s best-kept secrets.
Do you have reservations already made for Roundup Rodeo BBQ, or are you still holding out hope that one will open up? You can always check (and re-check) the My Disney Experience app for reservations, or for menus for your second choice of restaurant.
