Disney ticket prices have been a point of contention for many fans for a long time now. Ever since the pandemic, the Walt Disney Company has been raising ticket prices at the Parks, which has inevitably priced out many families who once frequented the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort. While many Disney executives, including former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro, and Disney CEO Bob Iger, have all made various statements either acknowledging the price increase or defending it, as it stands today, many fans still find themselves unable to afford a Park visit.
Fans Speak on Disney Park Ticket Prices
Many times, fans have spoken out about the price of a Disney vacation. In March, at the Morgan Stanley conference, Disney CEO Bob Iger conceded that ticket pricing strategy had been too “aggressive” on the part of the Walt Disney Company. Prior to that, most of what we’d seen Disney executives saying was that the pricing structure was meant to provide as much accessibility and flexibility as possible.
But despite all this, and the number of times fans have stated they want to see prices go down; recently, some fans agreed they would “welcome” ticket price increases if Disney fixed one thing.
What do the Disney Parks desperately need that fans would pay more for?
Disney Guest and Reddit user u/ItsGrainz took to the social media platform to call out Disney’s lack of proper toilet paper. That’s right, toilet paper.
The Guest shared, “I would welcome ticket increases to have more than single ply toilet paper.”
Fellow Guests and fans in the comments immediately agreed with the sentiment, sharing, “That stuff basically dissolved when it touched any fluid. I felt like cotton candy would have been more effective in wiping up.”
While many were on the same page as the OP, many also stepped in to explain the situation.
One fan suggested, “It’s not just to save money. Those sewer pipes are almost 70 years old.”
Another agreed, “Exactly, plus the amount of people that come everyday. Like imagine rides go down and then toilets go down there would be no end to complaint.”
The possibility of the toilets being out of service at a Disney Theme Park is certainly a scary one, and is one that Disney would not want to see happen at the Parks.
Fans also pointed out that the Disney Parks being shut during the pandemic was the perfect time to have upgraded their systems and fixed some of these issues including the dated plumbing.
One shared, “That was a huge unprecedented opportunity for them to do major improvements to the parks, and they squandered it. Would have kept people employed too. Instead they decided to let everything fall into even worse disrepair, including the plumbing.”
Whether fans go to Magic Kingdom Park or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World or Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort, this issue can be universally addressed. However, it remains to be seen whether Disney will act on it.
Besides, while some fans agreed to ticket price increases, one quickly pointed out the already high prices at the Parks: “With ticket price increases, the park should be equipped with bidets.”
