Disney princesses are some of Disney fans’ favorite characters. They’re an indelible part of the Disney franchise and have been integrated into multiple facets of the Disney brand, including the Disney Parks, merchandise, live-action remakes, and more. The first Disney princess was Snow White, who was introduced in 1937 with the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Some of the most well-known Disney princesses include Cinderella, Princess Aurora (also known as Sleeping Beauty), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Jasmine (Aladdin), Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana (The Princess and the Frog), Rapunzel (Tangled), Merida (Brave), Moana, and Elsa and Anna (Frozen).
Disney princesses are known for their beauty, kindness, bravery, and determination. They often face challenges and overcome obstacles with the help of their friends and family, and ultimately find their own happy endings after going through their journey. However, many have criticized the Walt Disney Company and Disney princesses for the way in which they portray gender roles and their narrow representation of diversity.
While Disney has taken steps to address these concerns in recent years (steps that have also been met with criticism from some fans), Disney fans sometimes take things into their own hands.
TikTok user Dreamy AI (@dreamy_ia) asked Artificial Intelligence to show the Disney princesses as warriors to imagine what they might look like if so. The results are truly stunning. The OP’s video includes Belle, Mulan, Snow White, Cinderella, Moana, Tiana and more.
Check out the video below:
@dreamy_ia What if Disney princesses were warriors? I asked an AI to show the Disney princesses as warriors, here is the result! What do you think? Who is your favourite warrior princess? #disney #princess #disneyprincess #warriors #woman #womanpower #empowerment #ariel #moana #mulan #rapunzel #artificialintelligence #viral #fyp
We love these renditions of the Disney princesses, and so did other fans in the comments. Disney fan Faith Beaman commented, “I like these so much better than the originals.”
Another fan, Kenneth, specifically called to Aurora’s image, saying, “The glow up on Aurora was wild.”
There were also some fans who took issue with this asking why the OP added Mulan when she was literally a warrior princess. Another user corroborated this, adding that Pocahontas, Moana and Merida are also warrior princesses. However, other fans came to the video’s defense, saying, “Would y’all stop hating on the smallest little things! This art is INCREDIBLE.”
We certainly love to see Disney fans taking the representation of our favorite princesses to new heights and creating beautiful art with it.
