After Typhoon Lagoon water park shut down earlier this month, now another Disney World park has closed, with no reopening date yet announced.
The Walt Disney World Resort is known for its incredible offerings, which combine to provide the ultimate Disney experience. The Central Florida Disney resort is home to four theme parks, two water parks, and numerous resort hotels that each—in different ways—give guests the chance to have the ultimate Disney vacation.
Now, there is news that one other Disney World park has shut down, and in the midst of the holiday season, no less.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park Closes Down During Thanksgiving
Walt Disney World Resort made clear that the Disney water park was going to be shut down for the Thanksgiving holiday. The news was corroborated by the outlet FOX 35 Orlando as well.
The website for Disney’s Blizzard Beach also shows that the Disney water park has no available hours today, as seen below. The cause of the closure has been announced to be inclement weather in the general area.
At present, while no reopening date has been officially announced, one can safely assume the park will reopen as the weather clears as well.

Guests should note that the other Disney World theme parks are, in fact, open and functional, and while it’s certainly disappointing to not be able to enjoy Blizzard Beach, there are other parks that can make the trip just as worth it!

Which is better: Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park?
Both water parks have much to offer guests who want to enjoy their time at Walt Disney World with a splash. Blizzard Beach is themed around a ski resort turned water park due to melting snow. It leans into the gimmicks— think “the frozen water park!!”—and people love Blizzard Beach for its theme.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, on the other hand, is a bit more by the book. Its backstory is that the topical paradise resort town was destroyed by a typhoon, giving rise to the water park.
Both have innumerable attractions and eateries to enjoy your time at and are wonderful places to enjoy your trip to Disney World. It is worth noting that the parks are open on an alternating schedule; i.e., when one closes, the other opens.
Typically, weather permitting, at least one water park is always open. The situation at hand is certainly rarer than not, and will likely be rectified as soon as staff determine it is safe to reopen the park.
