Guests Drop $400 for Nine Days Straight at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Major Show of Support

Another unexpected turn of events has unfolded at Walt Disney World Resort, marking yet another shift in the ever-evolving landscape of the Orlando, Florida theme parks.

Disney’s Lightning Lane system has seen multiple updates, now featuring three distinct tiers: the Lightning Lane Single Pass, Multi Pass, and Premier Pass. While the Single and Multi Pass options allow guests to book attractions individually or in bundles of three, the Premier Pass offers one-time access to all Lightning Lane attractions in a single park. But this convenience doesn’t come cheap—prices for the Premier Pass can soar as high as $449.

Initially, Disney limited the Premier Pass to Deluxe Resort guests, but it was later made available to all visitors. Despite its hefty price tag, the pass has seemingly been a runaway success, frequently selling out during peak holiday periods such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. In fact, Magic Kingdom experienced a 10-day consecutive sellout over the holiday season, proving just how eager guests are to streamline their park experience.

However, what’s even more surprising is the Premier Pass selling out on non-peak days, including an unexpected sellout in January. Most recently, the pass is now completely unavailable over Valentine’s Day weekend (February 14-15), a holiday that typically doesn’t draw the same crowd levels as major seasonal events. This trend suggests that many guests are willing to pay top dollar for convenience, no matter the time of year.

Now, another consecutive sellout has occurred, nearly matching the record-breaking holiday demand. According to reports, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is now sold out for nine straight days, spanning February 11 through February 19, with prices ranging between $329 and $399.

While this isn’t the highest price point seen—that record still belongs to the $449 passes sold during the holidays—it’s still a surprising development, especially given the time of year. Spring break is just around the corner, and recent data suggests another surge in attendance, but a mid-February sellout could indicate that Disney’s strategy is paying off. The company has acknowledged that they are still “learning” how best to implement the Premier Pass.

Disney has not disclosed exactly how many Premier Passes are sold per day, but given the frequent sellouts, demand is evidently strong. It’s also possible that the number of available passes has been reduced—after all, the Multi Pass and Single Pass remain available for the same dates. Now that the Premier Pass is open to all Walt Disney World guests, not just those staying at Disney resorts, its popularity continues to rise.

For guests at Magic Kingdom, the Premier Pass covers some of the most sought-after attractions, including TRON Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Jungle Cruise, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. That alone makes it an attractive option for visitors eager to maximize their time in the park.

That said, some notable attractions are missing from the lineup due to 2025’s refurbishment schedule. Over at Magic Kingdom, Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland are currently out of service, meaning some guests may have to adjust their plans accordingly.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
