Disney World: No Theme Park Reservations, Hotel Availability Through Friday

Disney World Closure

Latest Update: 9/29/22 2:55 pm EDT – Disney World Confirms Phased Reopening for Friday

Published: 9/29/22 2:12 pm EDT

While the Walt Disney World Resort has only officially confirmed on its website that its Theme Parks and Water Park will be closed today, Thursday, September 29, other sections of its website suggest that official confirmation of a Friday closure is coming soon.

Multiple Guests have already reported that they spoke with Cast Members who said that Disney World Theme Parks would remain closed for another day.

According to the Walt Disney World website, all Theme Park Reservation availability on Friday for Theme Park Ticket holders, Resort Hotel Guests, and all Annual Passholder tiers have been removed.

While it could simply be a matter of Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom being now at full expected capacity due to the multi-day closure, it could also be a means to halt any further interest in visiting the Parks in the current weather conditions.

Resort Hotel Reservation availability has also been eliminated on the Disney World website Friday and into Saturday, October 1.

While the center of Tropical Storm Ian has left the Sunshine State, tropical storm conditions persist in the Disney World Area as well as the rest of Central Florida. Record flooding and high winds have caused power outages and hazardous road conditions. The extent of the damage Disney World has faced also remains unclear.

Earlier this morning, Disney World posted an update to Twitter, which read, in part,

“We are thinking of our neighbors across Florida. We will get through this together and will be there to help our cast members and community.”
