Recently, guests reported that Disney’s Hollywood Studios had a difficult day with multiple attraction shutdowns and issues that crept up.

Ride shutdowns and breakdowns are part and parcel of any Disney vacation. Any Disney fan knows this. However, it can be quite frustrating to see this happen on a first trip to Disney World or Disneyland Resort, and it can cause a damper on the trip. Recently, one Disney World theme park had a “brutal” day, with guests left disappointed.

Guest Reports Major Attraction Shutdowns at Hollywood Studios

One guest took to Reddit to share how there were major issues at the Disney Park on March 14, 2024. The guest wondered if this was because of the spring break crowds or if it was just a bad day because “in addition to [Rock n Roller Coaster] being closed, [Slinky Dog Dash] has been down for 6ish hours, and Rise of the Resistance just went down too around dinner time.”

The guest concluded by expressing, “You’re all well aware of how bad the ride situation is here these days, I just feel bad for people who may have today as their first trip ever to the park. Will Studios ever fix this problem?” 

Guests were on the same page as the OP, with one commenting, “This kind of stuff is just another part of my argument that the 3 non Magic Kingdom parks need rides more than we need a 5th gate.” 

Another agreed, adding, “Yeah, more rides solves a lot of problems. Spreads the people out more (both across more rides, but across more physical area too as they walk around), and helps alleviate issues OP is talking about when any rides are down. I’d much rather see them focus on more at the existing parks for a while before adding that 5th gate.”

It’s certainly unfortunate to hear about the Disney park being in less than stellar shape. However, it’s worth noting that these types of shutdowns are necessary as a part of maintaining the safety standards guests expect from Disney and avoid future a ride breakdown.

However, it can be frustrating when that happens all at the same time, leaving little for guests visiting the park to do at all.
