One of Walt Disney World’s newer shows appears set to be permanently retired in early spring of next year, per an update from the My Disney Experience app.
The Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are renowned for being the perfect destinations for a Disney vacation when it comes to the Central Florida Resort. Think many a ride and attraction like “Haunted Mansion” and “Space Mountain” at Magic Kingdom, “Expedition Everest” in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and shows like “Fantasmic!” in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
EPCOT has its own, more new show—”Harmonious“—which takes over the World Showcase Lagoon. Just a few months ago, we learned that Disney was planning on replacing this show for the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney Company. While there weren’t many specifics about its departure at the time, a new update to the 50th Anniversary page in the My Disney Experience app has informed us that it won’t be around much longer.
We now know that all of the special anniversary celebrations end on March 31, 2023. This means March 31 could well be the date of its last showing. The show may end prior to this as well. “Harmonious” has received more of a “hot and cold” response from Guests since its inception when fans were torn on the new look and hated that part of the show obstructed the view across the World Showcase Lagoon.
Here’s more on the show from Walt Disney World:
The heart of the EPCOT transformation comes to life with Harmonious, one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for Disney Parks. The show is a beautifully crafted medley of classic Disney music and visuals reinterpreted by a culturally diverse group of 240 artists from all around the world. Come and be dazzled by all of it as you discover how Disney music and stories have the power to inspire and unite us all, overcoming any language or border.
We at Disney Fanatic will continue to report on all Disney news.
