Disney fans have been on an emotional roller coaster in recent weeks as the Walt Disney Company has experienced upheaval in the form of CEO Bob Chapek’s exit and former CEO Bob Iger’s return, but they have also been experiencing dismay and disappointment as Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort rides have continuously broken down in “ridiculous” quantities, and as rides have shown clear signs of malfunctions or neglect.
Now, another fan-favorite Disney roller coaster has had to shut down — and this time, the ride closure was more dramatic than usual! Normally, Disney ride and theme park ride passengers have some idea about the reasons behind roller coaster breakdowns, because the passengers who are currently riding the roller coaster will have seen the incident that caused the evacuation or breakdown.
For example, many Disney Guests have been jumping off of rides lately, jumping from their moving cars (or, in this case, clamshells) to the ride’s scenery and causing the ride to shut down for safety reasons. This behavior can lead to being escorted out of a Disney Park or even banned, as this woman learned when she jumped onto a moving boat on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride!
There have also been so many malfunctions on Disney rides — which could be related to the reported staffing shortage that Disney is dealing with in the maintenance department — that Disney Guests have started to become accustomed to ride malfunctions, animatronic malfunctions, and delays (including delays that cause the lights to be turned on and reveal the less-than-thrilling inner workings of rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind).
Recently, Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain had to shut down — and not just the ride closed! The Expedition Everest gift shop closed, all Guests were forced to exit the ride’s line, and no explanation was given for the closure.
Anyone knows what happened at Everest this morning?

Disney Park Security was also present, which made some Disney fans think that a fight between Guests had been the cause of the closure (after all, a massive fight did break out between Guests in the Magic Kingdom earlier this year, which led to arrests and lifetime bans). What do you think caused this closure?
