On January 27, The Walt Disney Company officially kicked off its 100th Anniversary celebration. The Disney100 began at the theme park that started it all — Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Sleeping Beauty Castle got a gorgeous makeover, limited-time food offerings were added to the menu, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened in Mickey’s ToonTown. There were also TWO new nighttime spectaculars. World of Color – ONE premiered at Disney California Adventure, and Wondrous Journeys lit up the skies over Disneyland.
While all the celebratory action began at Disneyland Resort, Disney shared that all of its theme parks would celebrate the momentous anniversary in some way. Disney is even working on a new nighttime show for EPCOT, which will debut later this year.
Now, here’s some news you may not have been expecting. At the New York International Auto Show, carmaker Hyundai unveiled its new, special IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Concept — one that was created just for the Disney100! And, let me tell you, if you are a big Disney fan, then you may need to get yourself on the list ASAP to purchase this incredible electric car!

In addition to the incredible interior additions, the Disney100 IONIQ 5 is painted Gravity Gold and has unique wheels and the Disney100 logo both inside and outside the car. The headlights and taillights have what is called “sparkle animation” and the moonroof has a pixie dust pattern etched it is. Because, all Disney fans know that all you need is faith, trust, and pixie dust! It’s truly a gorgeous teamup between Hyundai and Walt Disney Imagineering.
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is an all-electric vehicle that averages more than 300 miles per charge. Disney and Hyundai have not yet said when the Disney100 IONIQ 5 will go on sale or how much it will cost.
