Major Downgrade Coming to Disney Park’s Early Entry Benefit

Disneyland Resort in California will downgrade one of its hotel guest park benefits next year. The theme park has long offered a special perk to guests staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels – the Early Entry benefit. This advantage allowed visitors to enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park 30 minutes before the general public, providing a head start to enjoy the most popular attractions with shorter lines. However, a change is on the horizon for this useful benefit, set to take effect on January 20, 2024.

Disneyland Early Entry Benefit Changes

Disneyland California warned guests of the impending change coming next year. Disney Journalist Scott Gustin, who is always on the ball with useful tips, ensured everyone was aware of the upcoming change on Twitter/X. He posted the information with a statement from Disney.

Starting on January 20, 2024, the early entry benefit will be updated, and guests with valid park admission and reservations who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels may take advantage of this 30-minute early entry into a designated theme park for every day of their hotel stay. Each day, EITHER Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park will be open early. Please check the theme park calendar for the schedule.

This adjustment means that instead of having the option to choose between both parks each day, guests will now have one park designated for early entry on any given day. This alteration is likely a product of cutting labor costs. There is no way funneling early entry into one park daily can optimize the guest experience, distribute crowds more evenly, or manage the flow of visitors throughout the resort better.

Disney Cuts Costs

While this change may disappoint some who enjoyed the flexibility of accessing Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park early, it’s important to note that the essence of the Early Entry benefit remains intact. Guests can still take advantage of reduced wait times for their favorite rides and attractions within the confines of whichever park offers it for the day.

It’s worth mentioning that the Early Entry benefit is subject to availability and not available on all days. Therefore, it’s advisable for visitors to consult the Disneyland website or app for the most up-to-date schedule and terms and conditions.

This Disneyland California Early Entry benefit change significantly downgrades the overall guest experience. While it is entirely understandable, given the intricacies of opening both parks early, this change is just another obvious way to save cash at guests’ expense.
