There’s a lot to squeeze into a Halloween visit to Disneyland Resort.
Between Haunted Mansion Holiday, Halloween Screams, seasonal food, decorations, entertainment, and everything guests normally want to experience at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, a single evening can disappear surprisingly quickly.
Disney is bringing back an experience in August that bundles several of those Halloween activities together while giving guests a guided look at the resort after dark.

Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour returns August 21, 2026, and reservations open weeks earlier.
Happiest Haunts Is Returning for 2026
The nighttime tour lasts approximately two hours and takes participants through both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Along the way, a Disney guide shares Halloween history and Disney-inspired stories.
It’s a different experience from simply arriving at Disneyland and making your own way through the Halloween offerings. Guests have a planned activity that carries them through both parks while adding some background and storytelling to what they see.
Disney has also bundled several additional benefits into the experience, including access to one of Disneyland’s signature seasonal attractions.
Haunted Mansion Holiday Is Included
Happiest Haunts participants receive Lightning Lane entry to Haunted Mansion Holiday.
The attraction transforms Haunted Mansion with a seasonal overlay inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), creating a Halloween and Christmas crossover that has become a major Disneyland tradition.

For tour participants, however, the important part may be how they get to experience it.
Lightning Lane entry is included, allowing guests to avoid relying entirely on the regular standby queue.
That could become especially helpful on busy nights when plenty of other visitors have Haunted Mansion Holiday near the top of their Halloween must-do lists.
Happiest Haunts Could Make Crowded Nights Easier
Halloween Time can bring plenty of guests into Disneyland, but the structure of Happiest Haunts could help participants spend less of their night fighting those crowds. The biggest advantage comes from combining Lightning Lane access to Haunted Mansion Holiday with reserved viewing for Halloween Screams.

Instead of waiting through the full standby line and then spending additional time finding a nighttime spectacular viewing spot, tour guests already have those parts of their evening accounted for. They’ll still encounter normal park crowds before and after the experience, but having two major Halloween activities built into the tour could help them use the rest of their park time more efficiently.
Reserved Halloween Screams Viewing Is Another Benefit
Halloween Screams is also included through a reserved viewing area.
That matters because nighttime spectaculars can create their own planning challenge.
Guests who want particularly good viewing locations sometimes have to factor additional waiting into their evenings. Having access to a reserved area removes some of that uncertainty for tour participants.
Disney is also throwing in a couple of physical extras.
Guests receive a Happiest Haunts Dirt Worm Crispie treat as well as a Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour key.
Between the treat, collectible, attraction access, nighttime entertainment viewing, and guided storytelling, the tour combines several different experiences into its roughly two-hour runtime.
Booking Begins July 30
Guests who want to take the tour should remember two dates.
Reservations open July 30, 2026, while Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour officially returns August 21.
The experience is subject to availability and can sell out, making advance reservations important for guests who already have their vacation dates locked in.

Happiest Haunts will be only one piece of Disneyland Resort’s 2026 Halloween season. Oogie Boogie Bash will also return to Disney California Adventure as a separately ticketed Halloween event featuring special characters, entertainment, food, and other experiences.
For visitors looking for something smaller and more structured, Happiest Haunts offers a different approach.
And when Disneyland is packed with guests trying to fit the same popular Halloween experiences into one night, having attraction access, entertainment viewing, and two hours of guided activities already planned could make the evening considerably easier.
