Disneyland Performer Killed by Drunk Driver

A drunk driving accident took a Disneyland parade performer and her father in Southern California Sunday, November 13.

According to NBC Palm Springs, the victims were 19-year-old Hannah Jacks, and her father, 45-year-old Riverside County Sheriff’s Correctional Deputy Daniel Jacks, Jr. They were in their Honda Insight when a Chevrolet Silverado collided with them head-on.

NBC explained,

CHP Officer Jason Montez said Bales was at the wheel of a Chevrolet Silverado with a front-seat passenger going westbound on Gilman Springs when Jacks’ Honda Insight approached from the opposite direction on the two-lane corridor, where there is no barrier forming a center median, only double yellow lines.

Montez alleged that Bales’ pickup “crossed over the divided highway and traveled into the eastbound traffic lane.”

The Chevy slammed head-on into the Honda, after which both vehicles came to a stop in lanes, according to the CHP spokesman. County fire paramedics arrived a short time later and pronounced Jacks and his daughter dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 47-year-old Scott Bales of Moreno Valley, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He survived and remains in critical condition.

But it was later discovered that one of the victims of this horrific event was a member of the Disneyland Cast Member family. Disney Dining reports that Hannah was a familiar place around The Happiest Place On Earth, working as a performer at the Disneyland Resort in California. She was most recently dancing in the Christmas Fantasy Parade. Disney has yet to release a statement regarding her passing.
