Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has certainly had an eventful year.
The star who rose to fame for his WWE past and then turned more toward entertainment with television and movies was hit with one challenge after another, with reports of his TV series being canceled, followed by the rumor that he was no longer in the running for replacing the famous Johnny Depp in an iconic role.
However, most notable in the news about Dwayne Johnson was the lawsuit that explicitly named him from former WWE star Rhaka Khan, AKA Trenesha Briggers.

What was the $3.3 BILLION Lawsuit?
Earlier this year, Dwayne Johnson was one among many named for a lawsuit that former WWE Star Trenesha Briggers (stage name: Rhaka Khan) filed, wherein she claimed that those named were involved in a “conspiracy” against her. The lawsuit alleged that all of the defendants “conspired to kidnap the plaintiff and her children.”
It shocked most everyone who came across it.
The Lawsuit is Dismissed by a District Court Judge
The lawsuit made headlines earlier this year after Briggers was authorized to pursue it back in February 2023. However, in the most recent news, the lawsuit was reportedly dismissed by District Court Judge Laura Taylor Swain. The lawsuit “for alleged kidnapping, stemming from Biggers’s 2019 arrest on charges of interference with child custody and ‘aggravated kidnapping facilitate’” involved a group of nearly 1000 people, including Johnson.
Others in Rhaka Khan’s lawsuit included the FBI, The Las Cruces (New Mexico) Police Department, The New York Police Department, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, The Miz, and more.
After Dwayne Johnson was named in the lawsuit, some were worried that this would mean the potential cancellation of his role as Maui in the upcoming Moana live-action remake, which Johnson is also an executive producer for, along with former co-star Auli’i Cravalho. However, this doesn’t appear to be the case, and it seems some semblance of normalcy has returned to Johnson’s world.
