A new report about an elderly couple who attacked a Disney World guest back in October 2023 has shed light on new information.
Getting banned from the Walt Disney World Resort is not an occurrence you hear about often, and certainly not one you expect from the older demographic of guests. To get banned from Disney, guests have to break certain rules—be that disorderly behavior in the parks (including through intoxication) or behaving in ways that are not appropriate for the family-friendly environment.

Per a new report from Disney Dining, back in October 2023, the police were called to the Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park after a woman—identified as Mikal Guthrie—reported that an elderly couple assaulted her.
Guthrie was reportedly sitting and waiting for a parade to start when the elderly couple approached her and told her to move, saying that they were saving the space for their family.
When Ms. Guthrie refused, the couple began assaulting her. Guthrie claimed the man, Bruce Klaff, started to “kick her buttock region repeatedly and pushed her towards the end of the curb attempting to remove her from the area,” and the wife, Nancy Klaff, “positioned herself behind Mikal and began to kick her and pull Mikal’s hair.”

When Guthrie asked the couple to stop assaulting her, a cast member is said to have approached her and told her she’d been selected to move to a special viewing area.
This was also corroborated by a written police report:
Lauren [the cast member] was on mainstreet [sic] in Disney guiding guests to safe areas in preparation for the upcoming parade. Lauren observed an elderly male identified as Bruce yelling at and kicking Mikal telling Mikal to get out of the spot she was sitting in. Lauren then approached Mikal and told her she was randomly selected to go to a special viewing area of the parade to get Mikal out of the situation.

The couple, for their part, denied parts of the story, with Nancy Klaff stating that Guthrie instigated the fight by kicking her. Bruce Klaff did admit that he tried to “nudge” Ms. Guthrie out of the spot.
Ultimately, based on the statements provided by the cast member and Mikal Guthrie, Bruce Klaff was arrested for “battery.” While Nancy Klaff was also found guilty of battery, she was not arrested. The couple were also issued “Trespass Notices” from Disney, which means they are functionally temporarily banned from the Disney Park.
