So often, people adore their favorite actors and actresses to the point where they think they can do no wrong. People who have portrayed villains have been treated poorly in public because people think they are like the characters they play. On the flip side, actors and actresses who play fun and loveable characters are also thought of as incredible people in real life.
That’s why it can be disappointing to see someone’s true colors come through, and they aren’t what you were expecting.

For two decades, Emily Blunt has been one of the most beloved actresses in Hollywood. She began her acting career in 2003, but her breakout role came in 2006 when she portrayed Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada. From there, her career took off, and she has starred in a number of hit films, including The Young Victoria, Into the Woods, The Girl on the Train, and A Quiet Place.

Blunt has also become a well-known member of the Disney family. In 2011, she starred as Miss Piggy’s receptionist in The Muppets. Then, in 2018, she brought the legendary magical nanny back to life in Mary Poppins Returns. Three years later, she brought one of Disney’s most iconic attractions to life when she starred alongside Dwayne Johnson in Jungle Cruise.
Unfortunately, Blunt’s past is coming back to haunt her.
In 2012, Blunt appeared on the Jonathan Ross show. During her interview, she spoke about traveling to the southern United States to film the 2012 movie, Looper. She said she went to a local Chili’s to eat, and the waitress recognized her. However, the interview took a turn when Blunt decided to shame the excited waitress on national television.
The host, Jonathan Ross, said that he loved Chili’s, but he now knew why so many Americans are “enormous.” Blunt laughed and said that her waitress was “enormous.” Then, she continued on, saying, “I think she got freebie meals at Chili’s.”
The video has recently resurfaced and fans are incredibly disappointed in the actress, who has always given the impression of being a very kind person.
Ugh f*** Emily Blunt seriously was one of my fave actresses but turns out she’s a fatphobic unfunny mean girl who thinks it’s funny to point out the size of a server when it adds nothing to the story – for shame

Many were hurt to see her joke about someone being overweight for no reason at all.
Emily blunt casually calling her server enormous and making a joke that they got too many free meals LITERALLY Makes me stomach hurt grossss

Fans failed to see what the woman’s weight had to do with the story.
Sorry, I’m not sure if I’ve missed something here, but I can’t seem to see the relevance to the waitress’ weight Emily Blunt’s story. Emily Blunt? More like Emily Cu

Over the years, the way we talk about weight has changed a lot and the body positivity movement has taken off. Recently, Disney even created a body positivity short film. Hopefully, that means that interviews like this and jokes about people’s weight are a thing of the past.
Blunt has not commented publicly on the video, but thankfully, no other interviews have surfaced of her making fun of fans — or anyone — in such a hurtful way.
