It will be no surprise to readers to learn that Disney fans are fond of using their imagination. Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney movies, Disney music — it all relies on Disney enthusiasts’ ability to immerse themselves in adventure, dreams, and Disney magic.
This is typically a good thing — but interestingly enough, these days, many dissatisfied Disney Guests have been envisioning their own plans for Disney Parks. Some of these fans, such as one ‘Goofy’ and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster fan, recently revealed their own plans for the potential retheme of the popular Hollywood Studios roller coaster.
The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is not officially being rethemed — in fact, Disney is specifically indicating that the roller coaster is not undergoing such a change, despite fans’ skepticism — but it is closing for refurbishment in February.
Since many Disney fans are feeling distrustful lately, and have faced many ride closures or lengthy renovations as of late, they have begun crafting their own plans for the roller coaster that features Aerosmith band members like Steven Tyler.
Many Disney fans are specifically asking Disney to change Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to a ride that is not about a limo ride with Aerosmith, but is instead a ride about Powerline the pop star.
Powerline is a character from the 1995 Goofy Movie, which followed Goofy and his son Max on a journey to see the pop star Powerline in concert. Powerline was a big hit with Michael Jackson and Prince fans, and the character’s songs “I 2 I” and “Stand Out” continue to be favorites among many Disney enthusiasts.
“I decided to throw together what the Rock ‘n Roller Coaster launch could look like based on the retheme suggestions I’ve seen,” one Reddit user wrote online, sharing a video they had made. “Here is Powerline!”. Take a look at this new take on the ride in the post below!

This retheme idea and this video both received positive comments from other Disney fans — but so far, Disney still seems intent on keeping the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster the same as it has been, and simply fixing it up in February while it is closed.
Would you like to see a Powerline ride? What do you think of this fan’s plans for the ‘potential’ retheme?
