Fans Question Why the TRON Virtual Queue is a Sluggish Mess

Are you heading to Walt Disney World in central Florida soon to experience the latest attractions that the theme park has to offer? Maybe you hope to snag a spot in the virtual queue for the newest ride in town, TRON Lightcycle/Run? Here’s a piece of advice. You might want to prepare to plan your entire day around this particular ride.

Disney Guests have been taking to social media to discuss their frustrations with the sluggish system, which is the exact opposite of the ride itself. Visitors who manage to snag a boarding group spot in the TRON virtual queue are reporting waiting in excessively long lines just to wait in additional queues.

Let’s break down just what is going wrong with this attraction’s virtual queue system and why it is such a mess.

Why Does the TRON Virtual Queue Take Forever?

Walt Disney World is heading into the summer months, which definitely means that Guest capacity will be on the high end. TRON Lightcycle is the newest experience that Magic Kingdom has to offer. This naturally means that the queue will be excessive, but no one is actually prepared for the disaster of an attraction queue.

For starters, there is no standby queue at all. Guests must be lucky enough to snag a boarding group spot through the Disney Experience App to have a chance of experiencing the ride. This often means visitors must be in the Park and ready to gamble at 7 AM.

However, parkgoers are reporting waiting in extremely long lines once they are called through the virtual queue system. It takes an average of 90 minutes before you can even reach the real queue.

Fans on Reddit have pondered whether or not the Walt Disney Company is overloading its virtual queue system. Many have voiced their frustrations on Twitter, realizing all too late that waiting for the ride takes up a good portion of their day even after they join the virtual queue. This is definitely not ideal when spending a lot of money on a Disney vacation.

Disney fans lucky enough to converse with the TRON Cast Members claim that lockers and loading times are to blame for the frustrating queue times. It also doesn’t help that many people request the back of the ride vehicle so that they don’t have to sit in a bike position.

Guests Are Disgruntled Over Long TRON Virtual Queue Wait Times

Some guests wonder if the closing of Splash Mountain has caused an increase in the queue times for TRON Lightcycle as visitors lack a similar attraction to counter it. TRON is also way more exciting to ride at night, meaning the extended evening hours of the summer are definitely causing more interest.

Whatever the case, it is best to go into TRON prepared, especially in the summer months. There is no lightning lane to alleviate the waits, and the problem doesn’t seem to have an end in sight until something comes along that is shiny and new at the Magic Kingdom Park.
