In a surprising move, the upcoming Frozen 4 has already broken a record for Disney, and it’s barely in production.

Disney movies are known for being spectacular (even though the company has admittedly had a rough patch recently). However, it’s rare even for a Disney movie to be so incredible it breaks a record before it’s reportedly even in production. However, one movie just achieved this.

Frozen 4 Breaks a Disney Princess Record

As ScreenRant reported, Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 have already allowed Princesses Anna and Elsa to break two records pertaining to Disney Princess animated movies.

Almost one full year ago, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Frozen 3 was in development. Fans were delighted. However, this wasn’t all. Mr. Iger also added that following the release of Frozen 3, Frozen 4 would also be on the table and would grace the silver screen.

Well, it turns out that these movies are making it so that Anna & Elsa will soon have the most movies among Disney Princesses.

As ScreenRant explained, “‘Frozen 3′ will already create a new Disney Princess record as the first theatrically released Disney Princess trilogy…’Frozen 4′ will also make Anna and Elsa the first Disney Princesses with four of their own animated movies. No other franchise has that many of their own animated Disney Princess movies.” 

Of course, it’s unsurprising that Disney has chosen to invest heavily in the Frozen franchise, considering the success of the first two movies.

When Frozen was first released in 2013, it was a worldwide hit and became a cultural phenomenon that has continued to make its mark on many Frozen fans—young and old alike.

At present, it’s expected that the original cast will reprise their roles in the upcoming movies. Frozen features Kristen Bell as Queen Anna, Idina Menzel as Princess Elsa, Josh Gad as Olaf, and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff.
