Visiting a Disney theme park is always a magical experience. From the rides and attractions, delicious food, fun character meet and greets, and more. Disney Cast Members work their hardest every day to make sure each Guest has a memorable experience. However, it is also up to the Guest to follow Disney’s rules while they are in the Parks. Each Disney theme park has its own rules and regulations, and not following those can get Guests kicked out, or even banned from visiting Disney in the future.
One Guest recently found out just how serious Disney is about its rules when they got banned following a truly bizarre incident.
According to Shine, a Chinese news source, the disruptive Guest was caught smoking in a non-smoking area of the Shanghai Disneyland Resort. A Cast Member asked the man to put it out. From there, things devolved into the man yelling and the Cast Member crying.
On April 19, a man was caught smoking in a non-smoking area within Shanghai Disney Resort, prompting park staff to try and stop him, according to a video circulated online.
The man became angry and demanded an apology from a worker, who tearfully complied. However, he continued to smoke, and the police had to intervene.
Suddenly, the man collapsed to the ground, causing the cancellation of the colorful parade scheduled for that day.
It should be noted that smoking is allowed in Shanghai Disney, but only in designated areas.
According to reports, the man became so problematic that the police were called and removed the Guest. A spokesperson for Disney confirmed that the unnamed Guest has been permanently banned from all Disney Parks for the rest of his life.
The Guest’s appalling behavior has many calling for a permanent smoking ban at Shanghai Disneyland Resort. Smoking bans are already in place at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California. The smoking ban is also being supported by the local tobacco association in Shanghai.
