Guest Shares Scary Story of Reservations Disappearing on App

Technology is almost always indicative of progress… unless it glitches and cancels your reservations for a Disney Park, as happened with one Guest.

The Disney Parks have changed in myriad ways throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, and likely the biggest of those has been the introduction of the Park reservation system. The Theme Parks are still undoubtedly crowded — that’s never going to change — but they are still operating with restrictions, i.e., under reduced capacity, even if the crowds don’t appear to demonstrate that. Guests still must obtain a Disney Park Pass to enter a Theme Park.

Per the latest from Disney, Guests must make a Theme Park reservation via the Disney Park Pass Reservation system to be able to enter Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, Central Florida.

The Park Reservations can be made online when you purchase your tickets. It’s important to note that if Park Reservations fill up for a Disney Resort for the day, no further Guests are permitted to enter the Parks. But working with this online can result in the occasional technological glitch, especially when you proactively make those reservations in advance.

PSA: CHECK YOUR PARK PASSES! Week of 10/17/22- from WaltDisneyWorld

As the user shared, “all of [their] reservations for the parks were GONE as of this morning on [their] app.” The couple had to call support and get them to confirm they disappeared from previous booking and have them manually re-add them into the couple’s account.

Another user, u/girlinblue80, shared a similar experience: “This happened to me in August, and while I was there, I saw another post on Reddit of someone that this had just happened to as well.”

Not only is this not the first time this kind of incident has happened, but it’s also not the first time the Disney app has glitched for purchases made on it. Earlier this year, we reported on a Disney Guest whose gift cards were voided because of a similar glitch and had to also reach out to Disney Support to help fix the problem.

While these instances are quite scary considering how much planning (and the cost) a Disney vacation takes, Disney support is always happy to help out when you reach out to them, and it’s always helpful to double-check check your passes all work prior to your Disney trip.
