Guest Stung by Bee on Tongue While Riding Disney Attraction

The last thing you would expect while screaming on a theme park thrill ride is getting stung by a bee on your tongue. Nevertheless, this was the experience for one Disney Guest while riding a popular attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The shocking moment was caught on camera by the ride’s Photopass system.

A close encounter with a bee is not a normal part of the popular Expedition Everest attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This roller coaster is exhilarating, taking adventurers on a high-altitude expedition through the Himalayas. Riders embark on a quest to spot the legendary Yeti, encountering unexpected twists, turns, and a thrilling backward section that adds extra adrenaline to the experience.

Keep Your Mouth Closed

One Disney Guest got to experience the unexpected wrath of nature while on Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom. During the high-speed vertical descent portion at the end of the attraction, the rider opened his mouth to scream. An unassuming bee was at the wrong spot at the wrong time and flew right into his mouth at this moment.

This would be a harrowing experience for anyone, especially when the creature now in your mouth has a pointy needle on its butt. The bee did what came naturally when in a dire situation. It stung this man on his tongue, leaving him with a painful memory for a lifetime!

Disney Provides Guest With Photo of Moment Bee Stung Him

Of course, Walt Disney World reacted quickly to the situation. The Guest was helped off the ride and received immediate attention from Cast Members. A bee sting can often lead to an allergic response, and a tongue would be a HORRIBLE place to have this occur.

Luckily, the Guest was not allergic to the bee sting and was fine. We can’t imagine his mouth was comfortable, however!

Disney then provided the rider with a surprise. The “magical moment” had been caught on Expedition Everest’s Photopass system. For those unfamiliar, most attractions at Disney feature a specific spot where a camera takes pictures of Guests as they ride, usually at a very exciting moment. This bee sting just happened to fall into that short window of time!

One should always be prepared to expect the unexpected when visiting Walt Disney World. From magical encounters with beloved characters to surprise parades and impromptu performances, Disney’s attention to detail ensures that every moment can be filled with delightful surprises. However, bees flying into your mouth and stinging you is probably not a welcome part of a Disney Park vacation.

It’s not every day that you have something utterly crazy happen to you and leave with photo evidence. Luckily this Guest turned out okay and can look back and laugh at the wonder of mother nature’s insects. Now the only question we have is what happened to the bee?
