Despite Walt Disney World’s family-friendly reputation, Disney Park guests have admitted that they’d like one iconic location to become childfree.
The Walt Disney World Resort is a place for families to enjoy their time together. With rides and attractions like Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom Park, and lands like Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, it’s no surprise as to why.
However, there’s one location where guests have expressed they would prefer not to see children at all.

Trader Sam’s at Walt Disney World
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is a tiki bar at the Walt Disney World Resort in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
From Disney’s official website:
Venture in to this tranquil hideaway for an enchanting evening packed with fantastic fun and delightful surprises. Explore the whimsically themed lounge—festooned with ancient artifacts and exotic treasures—or set sail for the open-air Tiki Terrace for a relaxing sip or nibble under the starry sky.
One feature of Trader Sam’s is its age restriction. It allows children in until 8 p.m.; after that time, only Guests above the age of 21 are permitted to enter.
Guests Want This Disney Location to Become ENTIRELY Childfree
One Disney fan took to social media to ask fellow fans how they felt about Disney allowing children into the location at all, and the responses were mixed. While some supported children going to the eatery—whether to teach children how to behave in different kinds of public spaces or simply because it is a fantastic place—many also expressed they didn’t want to see children there at all.
One shared, “I generally not a fan of having kids inside Sam’s, but I appreciate the compromise of only allowing them until 8pm. For me it’s more having an escape for adults rather than any concern about or for kids.”
Another agreed, “It’s a bar. Kids shouldn’t be at a bar. Adults need their own space as well.”

This said, as one Disney fan pointed out, “If they shouldn’t be there, then they wouldn’t be allowed. Especially at Disney.”
It’s unlikely that Disney will ever change their rules about the location unless something truly untoward happens.

What happened to allowing parents to decide if they want to take their children into a bar in the daytime or not? Grow up people please
It’s a bar!! if children have a time limit then too bad
I don’t think children should forbidden from anywhere. It is a place for families. If people want a child free location, go to an adult reared resort.
The problem is that adults do not make their children behave. Children have not been taught manners. It is the fault of the parents. I think there should be places for families only and adults only as well and this is because of the poor behavior of kids. We were at Disney just last week and saw a middle aged adult knocked over by two tween aged kids who were running in the crowd, while their parents watched and said nothing.
Don’t allow unruly in disciplined behavior children that yell screen cry use the bathroom on rides or in the streets
I have had enough of the huge. Strollers by the thousands and unattended children Al all parks at all times of the day
They simple destroy the MAGIC of the Parks parents need to go to. Parenting skill programs and maybe things will change
You have already had problems with drunk visitors, such as fights and unruly people. Why make it worse by having full time adults only. Because you will have problems all day long.
