New Meetable Character Coming to Disney Park for a Limited Time

Disneyland Resort in California further proves it is better than Walt Disney World regarding its unique and varied character offerings. Disney’s commitment to bringing beloved characters to life has again brought a new and popular Star Wars character to the theme park for excited fans.

Two Firsts for Hera Syndulla

Hera Syndulla, the iconic Twi’lek leader from Star Wars Rebels, is debuting as a meetable character in Disneyland Resort’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. This is the first time the talented pilot has been seen in this manner, and she will bring her Astro droid, Chopper.

For fans of the Star Wars saga, Hera Syndulla is no stranger. She is the indomitable captain of the starship Ghost and a key figure in the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Hera’s journey from leading the successful Phoenix Squadron to liberating numerous planets from Imperial rule, and ultimately becoming a general in the New Republic has made her a standout character in the galaxy far, far away.

In the recent and ongoing Ahsoka series, set five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, Hera Syndulla has also stepped into the live-action realm, portrayed by the talented Mary Elizabeth Winstead. This was another anticipated first for the Twi’lek and a welcome addition to the cast.

The series follows the former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, portrayed by Rosario Dawson, on her quest to find Grand Admiral Thrawn, who mysteriously vanished after the final episodes of the Star Wars Rebels series.

Hera’s inclusion in the Ahsoka series is necessary for Star Wars fans. A close friend of Ahsoka, their live-action reunion on-screen has been highly anticipated. In the series premiere episode, viewers witness Hera in her role as a general in the New Republic, setting the stage for her involvement in the hunt for Thrawn.

Disneyland Resort in California has joined in on the fun by introducing Hera Syndulla as a meetable character in the park’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge area. Visitors can now step into the world of Star Wars and have an encounter with Hera for a limited time. You can see her starting on Friday, September 8. Ahsoka has also recently been interacting with guests at Disneyland.

Walt Disney World would do well to take cues from Disneyland Resort. It has often been criticized for lacking in unique characters. With a Galaxy’s Edge of its own, there is no reason for the Florida theme park to continue ignoring the demands of Star Wars fans while the California park embraces them.
