A “horrible” encounter with a security Disney cast member left one guest incredibly unhappy with their Disney trip, with the guest going so far as to say: “I don’t think someone with such a negative mentality should be working at Disneyland of all places.”
Whether at the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort, the cast members can make or break the Disney experience. These incredible folks are the heart of Disney and usually take the time to make sure guests are having the most magical time they desire.
For this reason, it’s particularly jarring when a cast member is “horrible” and ruins one’s trip.
A fan took to Reddit to share their recent horrible experience with Disney security.
The guest explained, “We were at the parks celebrating my best friends birthday and we were re-entering through security around 7:00pm. My friend got her bag looked at and made it through no issues. When my other friend was being checked though, the lady took every. single. Item. Out of the bag. One by one opening the items and inspecting them so closely. It just got so ridiculous.”

The guest went on to explain that the Disneyland security cast member kept squishing their bags and opening all their snacks and food and was behaving in what felt like an inappropriate manner.
In fact, even “The guy who was partnered with her apologized to my friend about this lady’s behavior and said she’s the type to ‘get you banned for life’ which is just such a weird way of thinking and behaving.
Guests agreed that it seemed like the security cast member was making a “deliberate attempt to antagonize you.”
Another added their own similar experience with a rude security cast member: “We have had experiences like that as well, we recognize one specific security guard now every time we go. We try to avoid their line if at all possible because they have been really rude to us for no reason. And it has felt deliberate every time. We are never rude to any cast member, their jobs are tough enough. But this person seems to enjoy being rude to guests.”
While this isn’t common at Disney, it’s certainly upsetting to experience this kind of treatment at a Disney theme park.
