Many fans of Disney and Nickelodeon movies might find it difficult to remember which shows from their childhood were Disney Channel TV shows and which were from the competing Nickelodeon channel. One such dilemma occurs for “Disney Adults” when it comes to the hit Nickelodeon series called Drake & Josh, which focused on the teenage antics of two brothers alongside their mischievous sister, iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove.
The two actors who played Drake and Josh were Drake Bell and Josh Peck. Josh Peck has recently experienced a major resurgence in his career and joined the Disney family as the star of the Disney+ Turner & Hooch series.
Drake Bell, unfortunately, seems to be going through some struggles — and now said struggles have been topped off with a divorce.
According to some “court documents obtained by TMZ,” Drake Bell’s spouse Janet Von Schmeling, has filed for divorce. “‘Irreconcilable differences’ are being listed as the cause of the divorce. Drake Bell and Janet Von Schmeling reportedly separated in 2022.
The couple does share a one-year-old child named Wyatt, and Von Schmeling is apparently “asking for ‘primary legal and physical custody'” as well as “spousal support”, with “visitation rights” for Bell.
This news about Drake Bell is not the first big news to follow the actor in the past several days; the actor, whose sardonic persona served as a perfect foil to Josh Peck’s naivete on Drake & Josh, actually went “missing” in Florida last week for almost a day.
The Daytona Beach Police Department began a manhunt in search of the actor, who revealed on Twitter that he had simply been away from his phone for the night. “You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this?” Bell Tweeted.
Even though there are many new Disney Channel shows (or in this case, Disney Channel Original Movies) and Nickelodeon shows to take up viewers’ time, there are still plenty of millennials who indulge in the occasional classic Nickelodeon marathon for comfort or nostalgia — including the show Drake & Josh. Did you watch this popular sitcom back in its heyday?
