‘It’s a Gift’: Vanessa Hudgens Reveals Her Paranormal Ability

Vanessa Hudgens is best known by Disney fans for her work in the High School Musical franchise, and she’s best known by rom-com fans for her lighthearted Christmas Princess Switch movies (in which she plays three princesses at once, even though the actress actually has no interest in being a real Disney-style princess), but the actress also has some hidden depths! Hudgens recently revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she’s had a lot of paranormal experiences and has a supernatural “gift”.

When asked by host and singer Kelly Clarkson if she was “obsessed with ghosts”, the High School Musical actress revealed that she’s had a lifelong connection in that department. “It’s not really a new passion,” Vanessa Hudgens explained. “You’re just kind of like finding out. Yeah, I feel like I’ve accepted the fact that, like, I see things and I hear things…even as a child growing up.”

Vanessa also shared a few stories about her paranormal experiences, starting with one from her childhood. “I remember getting ready for school when I was 8 years old, and there was, like — you know those ducks that, like, is like the duck thing that you pull? It’s a toy,” she continued. “There was one of those on the dining room table, and I started walking and it just started, like, going alongside me.”

“I kind of shut it down for a while because it’s scary,” Hudgens explained. “The unknown is scary, you can’t, but I recently was like, ‘no, this is a gift and something that I have the ability to do, so I’m going to lean into it’.” The Princess Switch actress and singer has now tried her own “real paranormal investigation” with something called a “spirit box [that] scans radio frequencies really quickly.”

“[There is] something about the electricity that it creates [that] allows spirits to speak through it,” Vanessa elaborated. She has also had an experience in a graveyard with a friend, involving hearing her name being said, but the pair chose not to run away because she said that “you have to, like, tell them to stay because you don’t want spirits to follow you.” When Kelly Clarkson jokingly asked “or do you?”, Vanessa confirmed that “no, you don’t.”

We’ve already seen Vanessa’s Gothic one-of-a-kind cave bathroom, so perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that the bubbly actress has some surprising interests!
