Johnny Depp Will NEVER Return to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

Johnny Depp is reclaiming his career his way.

The saga of Johnny Depp and his career in Hollywood has been long-drawn-out and well-documented. The once supremely successful star saw his career flush down the drain when his ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of domestic abuse. Johnny Depp lost most of his contracts and was immediately dropped by many studios, including that of the Walt Disney Company.

Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard were married from 2015 through 2017. In 2016, Heard filed a restraining order against Depp, accusing him of domestic violence. The couple reached a divorce settlement in August 2016 for $7 million, and Heard withdrew her request for a restraining order; she also pledged to donate the money to charity.

In 2018, Depp filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard which finally took place and was live-streamed in 2022. Johnny Depp famously emerged victorious from the lawsuit and regained the favor of fans and the Hollywood community.

Will Johnny Depp return to Pirates of the Caribbean?

All of this leads us to one question many have been wondering about. Will the actor return to the series that he has been so instrumental in making successful?

Disney executives have spoken out about this and insinuated that the door for Depp’s return is certainly open. Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer has explicitly stated he would love to have Depp return. However, Johnny Depp himself has also to want to come back… and unfortunately, it just doesn’t seem like he’s interested.

Johnny Depp Says “NO!” to Returning

Per the latest reports, the actor is simply done with Hollywood. According to friends of Depp who spoke to Daily Mail, the actor is uninterested in ever returning to the industry.

The friends shared, “They blind dropped him even though Amber had lied her a** off. ”

Another also reportedly added, “He says he isn’t interested in speaking someone else’s words. He is interested in authentic expression of himself, through art and music at the moment.”

This said, another outlet reported that these claims were false and that Depp does not have any “vendetta” against Disney. “People are just making things up about Johnny at this point, trying to capitalise off the anniversary of the trial to fill blank space for news,” they shared.

Johnny Depp has never publically addressed the issue, but at the moment, it seems like the chances of Captain Jack Sparrow fans seeing the swash-buckling pirate on the big screen again are very low.
