The Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth” and “The Happiest Place on Earth,” respectively, and the Disney Parks have earned these monikers in no small measure. From incredible rides and attractions like Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland Park to lands like Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure or Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, there’s a lot to enjoy and celebrate!

Bad or Inconsiderate Behavior at Disney Parks

Bad behavior at the Disney Parks is not a new occurrence by any means. Guests have been known to pick fights with other visitors, yell at Cast Members, and even disrupt rides and attractions, putting themselves and other Disney Park-goers in danger. Along with this, many have called out those Guests who vlog or stream while on the ride and take photos with the flash on in a dark ride, ruining the ambiance for other visitors.

The latest in the list of complaints comes from a Guest on Reddit who took to the social media platform to vent their frustrations about how “it feels like an unwritten rule to not talk during group rides” and Guests who were unaware of that.

The Guest, u/Mysterious_Joe_1822, shared,

…This trip we have had some chatty folks near us!!! Folks talking on Winnie the Pooh but they stopped midway, our full boat was talking the entire time on pirates today to the point you could hear ride sounds and even talking on Star Tours which I didn’t think was possible. Like why go on it just to talk, and isn’t that rude to ruin it for others? Idk maybe I’m just getting old an cranky but it’s rude to talk on rides right?

The OP also clarified in an edit that exclaiming about how wonderful or fun the ride was, wasn’t an issue, rather, talking about any and everything else was disruptive.

Disney fans in the comments were largely sympathetic and agreed with the OP.

One shared, “If it’s stuff like “wow amazing”, “look at that!” Etc, I’m ok with that, we’re sharing an experience. If you’re talking about how your mother in law is overweight I don’t want to be forcibly involved in that conversation lol.”

Another added, “If a person is talking gossip loud enough for other people to listen, they shouldn’t be mad if we chime in. “Yes your MIL is really fat and should probably look into getting that taken care of” lol.”

The overall consensus was while brief exclamations were more than welcome as Guests enjoyed the ride, it was important to be considerate of others and what is appropriate for the context of a ride.
