If you are looking to head to a theme park this summer, you might want to plan your time carefully. A popular ride at a Disney Park has had some Lightning Lane chaos causing its line to stretch to incredible lengths lately. While this is likely due to high Guest attendance at the moment, there are some additional things you should know as to why fast lanes have high wait times now.
What is Causing Light Lane Chaos at Disney Parks?
Disney Parks are known for their vast quantity of exciting rides. Wait times in the summer months for popular offerings are usually quite long. Walt Disney World has recently seen obscene queues for new attractions such as TRON Lightcycle/Run, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Virtual queues and Lightning Lanes have not saved Guests much time due to heavy visitor interest.
The Radiator Springs Racers attraction in California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort recently saw its Lightning Lane back up all the way to Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters. For those unfamiliar, this is an extremely vast distance between the two attractions in Cars Land. Visitors have reported waiting at the popular theme park location for up to 140 minutes to ride the attraction, even with the benefit of the Lightning Lane access.

Are Lightning Lanes Usually This Long?
Obviously, this is not the best Disney experience to have. Fans on Reddit have been quick to call out that Disneyland hosted a Grad Night, which may have been the cause of the backup. Fans stress that going to the Parks during Grad Night is a waste of time and money due to high teenage attendance and school getting out. The California location is also about to head into summer block-out dates. This will make the cost of tickets rise substantially, so many vacationers might be trying to get to the Parks early before the summer crowds get even worse.

Theme park attendees also claim that Lightning Lane access is delayed a lot by parkgoers who do not have their passes ready at the entrance. This Lightning Lane chaos is increased when individual parties show up early or late to their return time or by confused Guests thinking they are getting in the standby line.
The lesson here is to plan accordingly and try your best to be prepared when visiting any Disney Park. This will give you plenty of time to breathe while also adding to a stress-free theme park environment.
