‘Maleficent’ Princess Elle Fanning Receives Another Award Nomination For ‘The Great’

If you haven’t been following Elle Fanning and only know her as actress Dakota Fanning’s little sister, then you’ve been missing out as a Disney fanatic. Not only has Elle played a classic Disney princess (with the Disney princess makeup, Disney princess mannerisms, Disney princess clothing, and Disney princess wedding all included) in ‘Maleficent’ and ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ opposite Angelina Jolie, she’s also won many awards for her acting abilities in movies like ‘The Beguiled’ and ‘Neon Demon’. She’s even been a judge at the Cannes Film Festival, even though she’s only twenty-three, making her the youngest person ever to be on the jury!

Now, Elle is impressing audiences and fans once again with her acting abilities–but this time, it’s in a very different role. Elle plays Catherine the Great on Hulu’s popular period-drama-meets-raunchy-comedy ‘The Great’, and she’s already won a Satellite Award and been nominated for a Golden Globe after season one of the show. Her character’s sass, humor, and cheeky vulgarity on the show have all combined with Elle’s sweet and innocent Disney princess appearance (and demeanor) to make for a fascinating performance in season two, which premiered recently. Elle has already been nominated for a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series (and the show itself has been nominated for Best Comedy Series, as well)! Elle’s co-star Nicholas Hoult, who plays Peter (Catherine’s husband and her rival for the throne) has also been nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
