But the pixie dust seems to be wearing away at one of the most popular Disney destinations: Aulani.
Despite being a premiere Disney Resort in Hawaii, it is currently facing a class action lawsuit regarding dangerous conditions that have allegedly sent several children to the hospital.
The Aulani Lawsuit
A recent class action lawsuit against Disney’s Aulani Resort claims that the pools don’t offer the same safety and standards associated with the theme park giant.

According to Scott and Danielle Thompson, their family visited Aulani in March. The couple’s then-10-year-old child slipped and fell at the Waikolohe Pool during their visit.
The family was forced to travel to the emergency room at The Queen’s Medical Center-West O’ahu. Once there, the child received stitches in the back of their head. The doctor also informed the Thompsons that they have seen many children come into the emergency room due to injuries in and around the Aulani pools.

The class action lawsuit claims Disney “…should provide adequate warnings prior to and at the time of their arrival that its grounds are particularly slippery, and that it has failed to apply anti-slip products and/or technology on the ground to decrease the likelihood of slips and falls.”
Trip Advisor Reviews
The Aulani lawsuit claims that the company has known about this problem for at least ten years yet failed to address it. The suit claims that Disney did not perform proper maintenance or apply an anti-slip surface to solve the ongoing problem.
According to TripAdvisor reviews of the Aulani Resort and Spa, many travelers list complaints about how slippery the pool is. These comments can be found in both negative and positive reviews of Aulani, and some contain stories of how poorly the staff has handled the situation.
“I’ve been around Disney pools for years and have never seen a problem like this,” said one reviewer. “Something has to be done, or someone will get seriously injured.”
A far more negative reviewer posted, “If you are planning a trip, BE CAREFUL!!! Disney will ignore your injuries and blame you… Shame on Disney for treating guests this way.”
