It may be a “tale as old as time,” but Disney fans simply can’t get enough of the enchanted tale in the animated classic film, Beauty and the Beast (1991) along with its live-action version in 2017. Disney Imagineers are well aware of that and have revealed a new Beauty and the Beast-inspired nighttime experience at EPCOT.

With EPCOT’s massive transformation into four neighborhoods, we’re shifting focus to World Celebration, the neighborhood that first welcomes Guests into the Disney Park with the iconic Spaceship Earth displayed beautifully.

As Walt Disney World Resort celebrates its 50th Anniversary, the Park icons become “Beacons of Magic,” including Cinderella Castle (Magic Kingdom Park), Spaceship Earth (EPCOT), Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Disney’s Hollywood Studios), and the Tree of Life (Disney’s Animal Kingdom). The four icons light up at night with special projection lights and music.

EPCOT has officially welcomed the arrival of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival (July 14 to November 19, 2022), with the introduction of a new Beauty and the Beast-inspired nighttime projection on Spaceship Earth that should be on a Disney fan’s must-do list!

Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a brief video and details as follows:

“Our Lighting Design team at Walt Disney Imagineering continues to explore the artistic and technical possibilities of the new Spaceship Earth lighting. For our newest limited-time sequence, we were inspired by the vibrant colors and strong movement in the 1991 Walt Disney Animation Studios classic, “Beauty and the Beast,” and infused both into the programming of the show.”

“Be on the lookout for some fun subtle easter eggs such as rising champagne bubbles and the multicolor spotlights from the finale of the song, plus a special tri-color celebration to France, the setting and inspiration of this tale as old as time.”

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you to “Be Our Guest” for an amazing new sequence inspired by the Academy-Award winning song just in time for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

For the music, we always enjoy the chance to put an EPCOT twist on the shows we create for Spaceship Earth. The lyrics from this song as known by heart to millions – I know I can recite them by heart every time the song comes on, and I’m sure I am note alone… By blending both the original English and French versions of Be Our Guest (known in French as “C’est la Fete”) we create a unique cross-cultural experience that’s a spectacle in any and all languages. Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning! Remember that this is a temporary addition to the EPCOT Festival, so be sure to plan your visit as soon as possible.

Not only can Guests get a dose of Beauty and the Beast at EPCOT during this new nighttime experience, but Guests can also visit the France Pavilion around EPCOT’s World Showcase, where Disney Princess Belle is available for meet and greets, along with the Beauty and the Beast Sing Along which rotates shows in the Impressions de France theater.

Happy planning your magical visit to Walt Disney World’s EPCOT!
