Disney adults have received their share of criticism over the years. Many times, these fans have been called out for their less-than-ideal behavior at the Parks. There have been times when some Guests have crossed the line and behaved in unacceptable ways at the Disney Parks—recently, a Guest got incredibly drunk and became violent with Cast Members and endangered herself and others by jumping out of the ride vehicle. There have been other instances when adult Disney fans have garnered the ire of fellow Guests; particularly, recently, childless adults were accused of “ruining the Parks” as well.
The latest criticism levied against Disney adults
However, of all the criticisms that Disney adults have weathered over the years, this one took us aback. One Disney Guest, who decidedly doesn’t consider herself a Disney adult, went to Walt Disney World Resort in Central Florida after winning a free trip to Orlando, and she shared how she was “Genuinely shocked and saddened at the obesity” she saw.
The Guest and Reddit user addressed the prevalence of obesity that she first saw, stating in no uncertain terms her opinion on the same,
“I was expecting fat people, don’t get me wrong, but I was totally unprepared for the prevalence of such obesity. Yeah, there’s obese people in the urban northeast, but nothing like what I saw scootin’ around Disney. Gosh, these people were huge. Just enormous. And so young. I just can’t imagine letting oneself get to that point.”
This wasn’t all, however. The Guest also slammed Disney Adults,
“Disney Adults” are almost all obese and seemingly low IQ. I know that sounds judgemental and mean, believe me, but eavesdropping on their conversations in line, or just watching how they interact with each other or with their kids. Wow. No wonder they like kid stuff and capeshit. Not too much going on upstairs.
She concluded her tirade with the sentiment that it was “Very depressing to see the state of Americans though.”

What was notable about this critique was that a lot of commenters agreed with the OP’s opinion, specifically, her observations about obesity, and shared this was true of Orlando at large. Many expressed hesitation with regards to going to Walt Disney World or Orlando, despite having grown up in the city or frequented the Parks as children.
