While there is no limit to just how much you can order while dining at Palo, do be warned that you’re going to want to pace yourself in just how much you do choose in order to experience all the phenomenal enticements to be had. Masterfully prepared mealtime marvels categorize the menu, which is comprised of authentic yet original inspirational influences straight from the heart of Northern Italy, particularly Venice. For many people, dining at Palo is considered to be one of the most immersive palate-pampering quests of all time. Courses include appealing antipasti options, fresh and warm bread service, scrumptious appetizers, delectable main entrée selections in such categories as La Pasta (pasta), Platto Vegetariano (vegetarian plate), Il Pesce (fish and seafood), La Carne (meat), and of course decadent desserts and winsome wines and champagnes to boot. Some of the menu’s most highly praised entrée choices include the Piquant Dover Dole (which is filleted tableside), Butternut Agnolotti, and their house specialty dessert Chocolate Soufflé with vanilla bean gelato and chocolate and vanilla sauce as a sweet sendoff.
7. An outstanding wine pairing experience
Just when you thought the menu at Palo couldn’t get any more upgraded, they even offer a special enhanced dinner and wine pairing option. It’s the Esperienza del Vino wine experience, and while it comes at an additional cost, it’s all definitely worth it if you decide to go this route. Esperienza del Vino is a featuring of six scrumptious courses, each expertly paired with one of their exceptional wines or other spirited selections in the ultimate pairing of taste and sophistication. The added cost for Esperienza del Vino currently stands at an additional $59 per person to Palo’s current baseline dinner pricing. There is also an automatic 15 percent gratuity applied additionally.
8. Desserts to die for
While we already focused on one of the restaurant’s most alluring dessert items, there are of course innumerable others sure to make your mouth water as well. There’s Palo’s Homemade Tiramisu with coffee-infused layers of ladyfingers and Italian Mascarpone Cheese, the Warm Orange Almond Cake of orange fennel salad with rhubarb puree and lemon cream, the Limoncello Tart served in an almond crust and topped with yogurt crème and caramel citrus, and the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with strawberry-basil sorbet, raspberry jelly, and milk crumble. Other favorites include a Spoonful of Gelato with caramel macadamia nut, double chocolate, mango mint, white chocolate espresso, and mixed berry samplings; the no sugar added specialty Apple Crostata with salted caramel, braised cinnamon apples, and whipped cream, and the Amaretto Soufflé with espresso gelato and vanilla sauce. Please note that all of Palo’s specialty dessert soufflés do take a while to prepare, so you will be asked well before the end of your meal about which desserts you may so desire. Also note the other dessert menu items, including drinks, digestives, palate cleaning sorbets, and many other features.
9. Brunch
While Palo is primarily known for being a premium dinnertime destination, did you know that Disney also offers a fabulous brunch option for cruises that are four nights or longer? Please note, however, that brunch at Palo only takes place on at-sea days, and reservations fill up pretty quickly. All the same, brunch time enticements at Palo are every bit as phenomenal as its dinnertime distinctions. Being as it is an Italian restaurant, you’ll still find profuse picks from notable Italian cuisine classics in addition to a delightfully refreshing spin on morning-appropriate menu concoctions. Your immersive epicurean experience begins the moment you enter the restaurant. You will be led by your server personally to a cleverly arranged buffet setup of starters, including, breads, meats, cheeses, fish, crab legs, myriad pastries, desserts, and so much more. And just when you thought you could make a meal in itself out of the buffet, you will also be presented with menus from which to order off of. The menu contains everything, from traditional breakfast classics of eggs, waffles, pancakes and the likes to fine hearty Italian picks, ranging from soups, pastas, salads, and hearty entrée features. And don’t forget about the fabulous array of drink options to be paired with or to top off any of the enticing eats you so desire. From the complimentary Mimosas or Bellinis to other great options like the Bloody Mary or the Berry Prosecco, you can’t go wrong with the drink presentations to be had at Palo during brunch.
10. Private dining excursions available
By now you’re probably thinking that a dining experience at Palo couldn’t possibly get any better, right? Well brace yourself because the best experience is yet to come—especially for those who come to Palo as a group. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or something else entirely (even just the fact you’re on a Disney Cruise with friends and family), Palo wants to celebrate with you and your party by offering a private dining room. These private room reservations are available for groups of 8 to 14 aboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and for groups of 10 to 14 aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. Your stellar experience will include a unique à la carte menu with the same customized attention to detail that you already love about dining at Palo. But when your venture takes you into elite private quarters this innovative upgrade is entirely beyond compare.
Guests planning a pursuit of palatable pleasantries with Palo should note that as this is a signature restaurant the price for dining here is not included in your cruise the way rotational dining is, and the added upcharge currently starts at $40 per person (more when opting for Esperienza del Vino). But for all that this phenomenal food-filled experience in elegance provides, the cost is more than generous. Reservations are absolutely mandatory and can be made online well in advance or even while onboard.
