“We’re Fighting a Spiritual Battle”: Pastor SLAMS Disney for Promoting Satan, Making Light of “True Evil”

The Walt Disney Company has historically been one of the most sought-after names to be associated with. The brand has been particular about protecting its image, whether by keeping its content family-friendly at all times or by making sure its actors maintain a squeaky-clean image during their time with the Mouse House. But recently, one upcoming Disney movie has been making waves because it’s about a pregnant teen who falls in love with the devil.

Earlier this year, Disney greenlit a German movie called Pauline. The premise of the show is simple: an eighteen-year-old meets and falls in love with the devil himself, and the pair spends the night together, and she ends up pregnant with his child.

On the film, the producers said, “For a long time, the series has been and still remains a project very close to our hearts,” said [Philipp] Käßbohrer and  [Matthais] SiraMurmann [executive producers]… We’re thrilled that Disney+ loves this coming-of-age story as much as we do and that we’ve now been able to begin filming with such an amazing cast and crew.”

However, Disney has been receiving backlash about this movie, and recently a pastor slammed Disney for this choice.

New York Senior Pastor of V1 Church, Mike Signorelli, spoke to CBN News about his views, sharing, “My reaction was: Satan always comes masquerading as an angel of light, and so he’s going to portray himself in the form that people are most readily able to accept.” Signorelli continued, “Because he wants to appeal to the masses, and we’re seeing this over and over and over again.”

“You would think programming like this would stop working on people, but in fact, there’s an audience for it which is why creators continue to make it.”

Signorelli concluded, “We’re fighting a spiritual battle, and we wrestle not against flesh and blood, and so we’re not fighting against producers and directors and cartoonists and illustrators…We are fighting a spiritual battle, and so we have to be aware of that so that Satan will not outwit us.”

This isn’t the first time that Disney has faced this kind of backlash. Recently a Christian hairdresser was fired from her job for speaking out about a Disney+ National Geographic show.

We know little about Pauline and its premise, and Disney hasn’t made any further comment on it at the time of publishing this article.
