Even though the dress code for a theme park might seem easy to grasp, Guests at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have been struggling with the concept (or taking advantage of it) in recent months. Now, a small business is offering a special service to help Disney or Universal Guests avoid any dress code infractions — and get some cute new Disneybounding outfits along the way for a relatively cheap price!
Once Upon A Wardrobe is a local business in California that is owned and run by Disney fans Ashlie Henderson and Lauren Hoesly. Henderson and Hoesly offer any prospective Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, or Universal Studios Guests the chance to receive “custom outfit planning for anyone needing the perfect look for their Disney World, Disneyland or Universal Studios vacation and beyond.”

You don’t necessarily have to go on a Disney vacation or Universal vacation to head to Once Upon A Wardrobe for the personal styling service, but the local business definitely seems to be tailored (pun intended) for Disney Guests! For starters, the cheaper of the two available styling options is the “Minnie” Look, which involves asking for three specific pieces (such as a shirt, hat, and earrings) that will be styled to suit you and your Disney look (after you take a personalized style survey) and that costs only 15 dollars.
Customers or prospective Disney Guests who are not looking for a Minnie Mouse outfit can instead choose to go for the “Full Look,” which will cost 2o dollars. Customers then complete their survey, and Ashlie Henderson and Lauren Hoesly will begin the personal shopping endeavor! This can take about two weeks, however, so it is not necessarily an option for anyone who is heading to Disneyland in just a few days and wants a stylish Disney look.
There will then be a virtual appointment, during which the stylists will show the customer which outfits or accessories they have chosen for approval. A pdf is then sent to the customer showing all of the articles of clothing or accessories, with easy links for purchasing! “Our business was born from an idea to help make the styling and packing portion of going on Disney and Universal vacations easier for all Park attendees,” the duo behind the business said in a recent interview.
Buying the services of a personal shopper or personal stylist for a Disney vacation or a Disney cruise might seem silly and frivolous, since many people’s idea of a Disney vacation outfit is simply a Disney look that can handle getting wet on water rides like the Kali River Rapids (and something that is lightweight, but offers sun protection).
However, in recent months, Disney Guests have been misbehaving exceedingly often — and several confrontations with Disney Cast Members, and several broken rules, have stemmed from Guests’ inability to follow the theme park dress code.
If you want to be absolutely certain that you are not being asked to change outfits at the gates of Disneyland, perhaps Once Upon a Wardrobe will interest you!
