Just a few weeks after the continuing construction of TRON: Lightcycle Power Run seemingly led to the closure of the nearby Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. for “refurbishment,” Fanatics can finally get a glimpse of what that “refurbishment” looks like.

Theme Park Insider @bioreconstruct posted a few images to Twitter on August 20, showing the scene at the Walt Disney World Resort:

In a close-up, numbered image, he explained,

Details at the refurbishment of the Space Mountain gift shop. 1 sealant and adhesive remnants from a tarp held to keep rain from work underneath 2 Exterior that seems ready for mesh 3 Mesh for applying stone that will be painted 4,5 Areas that seem ready for mesh

While little is known about the specifics of this closure, we at Disney Fanatic have speculated that the gift shop’s closure was due to the construction of Tomorrowland’s newest roller coaster, as was the closure of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Concept art shows a new walkway that allows Guests to pass by Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. to access the attraction. We speculate further that it will reopen around the same time as the Walt Disney World Railroad.

Check out the concept art showing this new pathway beyond the gift shop below:
