PHOTOS: TRON Progress, Railroad Tracks Install Completed

Tron Construction Disney World

Another day and another update on Walt Disney World’s long-overdue Tomorrowland roller coaster. But things are looking promising!

Theme Park insider known as Bioreconstruct was in the Magic Kingdom recently and shared some pictures of the construction on Twitter this Saturday. With the canopy and coaster track seemingly done–or at least assumingly after Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro and other Disney executives were able to test ride it a few months ago–, the focus turns to the development of the walkway and surrounding area.

It also appears that significant progress is being made to the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop and video arcade, which closed this past summer. Recent developments on the Disney World website hint at the area reopening to Guests as early as November 6. Click the link below to read our full coverage.

But perhaps the most exciting news comes from images of the path of the Walt Disney World Railroad. Images now show the tracks that were removed for construction are now completely reinstalled with the brand new tunnel cutting under the new behemoth.

The Walt Disney World Railroad has been out of commission due to the construction of TRON: Lightcycle Power Run for several years, and there is still no official word on when Guests can expect to get the opportunity to ride the rails again.

There is still no official opening date for TRON at Disney World. However, D’Amaro confirmed that Guests could expect it to finally open sometime next Spring.
