For just about 20 years, Guests visiting Disneyland Resort during Halloween and the new year have been able to ride a very special version of the iconic attraction, Haunted Mansion. Haunted Mansion Holiday takes the classic attraction and gives it a Nightmare Before Christmas twist. Presents are no longer sweet surprises, but spooky, and Zero has been transformed into a ghost dog reindeer! The attraction is incredibly popular and rarely sees wait times under an hour for all the months it is there.

But now, the holidays are over, and Jack Skellington and his friends must return to Halloweentown. With that, a big closure comes for Haunted Mansion Holiday. The attraction — which is located in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park — will be closed for several weeks as Disney Imagineers change the ride back to the traditional version that Guests know and love.

According to the Disneyland Resort website, Haunted Mansion will be closed until February 10.

Haunted Mansion has transformed into Haunted Mansion Holiday—open through January 29, 2023. Beginning January 30, 2023, Haunted Mansion will be closed for refurbishment and will reopen on February 10, 2023.

Even though one of Disney’s most popular attractions will be closed for a couple of weeks, there are so many great options that Disneyland Resort visitors can enjoy. On January 27, Disneyland Resort kicked off the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. There are two new nighttime spectaculars — Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland Park and World of Color – ONE at Disney California Adventure –, as well as a ton of specialty foods, and a brand-new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

The Haunted Mansion will stay in its original form until late August, when it will presumably close again for several weeks, and then reopen as Haunted Mansion Holiday.
