On January 27, The Walt Disney Company will begin celebrating its 100th anniversary. While Disney has said that all of its theme parks will honor the special anniversary, most of the celebration will take place at The Happiest Place on Earth — Disneyland Resort. Disney100 merchandise is already on sale at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney District, and on January 27, Guests will be able to indulge in special meal offerings and watch two brand-new nighttime spectaculars!

As the sun sets at Disneyland Resort, both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will be prepping for the shows — World of Color – ONE at California Adventure and Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland Park. Disney officials have already given us a first look at World of Color – ONE, and now, we are finally getting some more info on Wondrous Journeys!

Theme park reporter Scott Gustin tweeted more on the tale Wondrous Journey will tell.
Disneyland released additional details about Wondrous Journeys, the new spectacular that debuts on Jan. 27. The show will include nods to every film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios (including the upcoming Wish film) and 18 Disney songs throughout the show.
And here is more about the moment Baymax takes flight: “During a climactic moment in the story, the thumping bass of the song “Immortals” from “Big Hero 6” can be heard as Baymax takes to the skies over Disneyland Park with his rocket boosters propelling him into the night.”

Baymax would not be the first Disney character to fly over Sleeping Beauty Castle during a fireworks show. Dumbo, Nemo, and even Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas have all taken flight.

Again, both Wondrous Journeys and World of Color – ONE will premiere at Disneyland Resort on January 27. In addition to the new shows, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open that day in Mickey’s ToonTown. It is important to note that World Of Color – ONE will use a virtual queue for those who want to get a good viewing spot. Typically, there are other spots to stand if you don’t get into the virtual queue, but Disney has not confirmed that this will still be the case with the new show.
