With four Parks, two water Parks, and a top-notch shopping center to explore, Disney Guests are always on the go. Guests head to Walt Disney World to immerse themselves in the Disney magic in the Parks, from rope-drop to fireworks show, but one spot allows for a welcome break between Park-hopping.

In addition to Resort pools and dining reservations, Disney Springs offers a laid-back approach to the Disney experience. With finger-lickin’ meals at Homecomin’ and endless stores to explore, Guests can plan an entire Disney shopping district day in their itineraries. It’s an essential spot to keep the kiddos entertained without navigating queues and crowds.

Some Disney Guests love Disney Springs so much that they book Disney Resorts just a short boat ride away from it. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Treehouses, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort: French Quarter, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort: Riverside are all short stops away from the Springs.

While Guests have enjoyed the perk of hopping aboard the Sassagoula Steamboat for a short cruise to Disney Springs, the Resort transportation is suspended.

Steamboat Stays Docked

The classic Walt Disney World rainstorms drenching Guests nearly every summer afternoon haven’t been as prominent this year, making for dryer Disney days—and now canceled boat services. According to FOX Weather, 55% of Florida is experiencing dry conditions, putting a damper on the typically soothing cruise from the Disney Vacation Club Resorts to the shopping mecca of Disney.

While the Sassagoula Steamboat stays port—we mean, put—the bus services will continue operating to Disney Springs from the Resorts mentioned above. Walking to Disney Springs is an option for Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort Guests.

At the time of writing, there’s no scheduled date for the Disney Springs boat service to resume. Disney also hasn’t spoken about other boat services taking a hit from the low water levels, so it’s safe to assume they’re cruising along as usual.

In the meantime, Guests staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort: French Quarter, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort: Riverside will have to get creative on their Disney Springs adventures.
