The Walt Disney Company owns so many entertainment properties that most of our favorite shows and franchises are owned at the meta-level by the Mouse House. One of the most well-known examples of this is the Star Wars franchise, which came under the Disney umbrella when Disney CEO Bob Iger struck the deal to buy Lucasfilm.
Recently, a global political leader came under fire when he enjoyed a fun moment with some children while playing with Star Wars-inspired lightsabers.

On February 3, the Canadian Prime Minister shared a video of him “training” with lightsabers where Prime Minister Trudeau engaged with young children, all while playing with the weapon inspired by the Star Wars movies.
In the video, we see the Prime Minister swinging around the lightsaber and then offering to teach two children how to do “the swinging thing.”
It’s a wholesome moment, undoubtedly. However, many fans and citizens didn’t take kindly to the video.

One X user commented, “If only you had time in your busy photo-op schedule for the Canadians living in tents, visiting food banks and worried about crime.”
Another called for the Prime Minister to resign, “There’s a time and place for you to resign. And it’s NOW.”
A third asked, “How much of our Canadian taxpayer money went to that family for this photo op??”

Of course, there were some citizens who came to the Prime Minster’s defense. One wrote, “As an Canadian citizen, I’m disgusted by all these comments towards Justin. In all my years as a Canadian citizen I’ve never seen a Prime Minister better than Justin and I think he’s the best Prime Minister we’ve ever had. Back him and trust the process. We can still do this!”
