Disney’s “That’s So Raven” and “Raven’s Home” star Raven Symoné says she has more in common with her character than just a name.
One of the most important things about being a Disney star is maintaining as clean an image as possible; this is especially true as it relates to child stars of Disney. Many Disney stars have felt so stifled and restricted by Disney’s requirements that they’ve spoken out about it or even rebelled in the extreme as soon as they were contractually allowed to do so.
That’s So Raven
One of the most iconic shows on the Disney Channel is actress Raven-Symoné starrer, That’s So Raven. The series follows teenager Raven Baxter as she navigates the trials and tribulations of high school with her best friends, Chelsea Daniels (Anneliese van der Pol) and Eddie Thomas (Orlando Brown). Oh, and she’s also psychic.
Rondell Sheridan plays Victor Baxter, Raven’s father, T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh plays Tanya Baxter, Raven’s mother, and Kyle Massey plays Corey Baxter, Raven’s brother.
The Disney Channel show aired for four seasons between January 2003 and November 2007; the Walt Disney Company created the series as its first multi-camera sitcom after the success of Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire (both single-camera series).
Raven from That’s So Raven
The heart and soul of the Disney Channel series That’s So Raven, was undoubtedly Raven Baxter, portrayed by Raven-Symoné. However, while she was universally adored back in the day, the actress has become somewhat controversial in the present moment.
She has said much that fans have been shocked by, including that “she wouldn’t hire someone if they had a ‘ghetto’ name.” In 2015, she also came under fire for not denouncing former Univision host Rodner Figueroa’s statement that Michelle Obama resembles the cast from “Planet of the Apes,” calling it “not racist.”
However, the Disney Channel star has a new claim about herself. In the latest news, the Raven’s Home star believes she’s psychic.
On a recent episode of The Best Podcast Ever With Raven And Miranda, Symoné shared, “I truly believe. I believe actually humans have the ability in their brain to tap into energy fields that allow for truth to connect when you know how to translate it correctly,” she explained, before continuing, “I can walk into a room, and it’s reading energy and energy in the psychic plane because it’s not on a physical, material plane.”

Much like the character she used to play, she added, “I do have moments where I really will just stare and I will see a scene that is happening to me or that is going to happen to me in another dimension and I’m like, ‘Yo, this is weird.’”
It seems like Raven Symoné has more in common with her namesake than we might have once believed… if you believe this to be true, now.
